Sunken Places, the developer behind school cheating simulator Classroom Aquatic has revealed that the title’s theme initially started out at a joke. Speaking to VRFocus the team’s Remy Karns explained that the idea for the title grew out of a simple joke one team member made during a pitching session. The title features support for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset.

ClassroomAquatic_1“After twelve hours of pitching hundreds of concepts, one of our members said they wanted to make a game about swimming with dolphins, because “dolphins are smart and humans are stupid”,” Karns said. “Although we wrote down that line just as a joke, it turned out to be the idea that became Classroom Aquatic!”

Classroom Aquatic tasks players with cheating at school activities such as tests and science displays. While you play as a human, fellow classmates are all dolphins. The title recently passed its Kickstarter campaign, gaining $31,315 USD in funding. It’s the developer’s hope to get the title out in December 2014. VRFocus will continue to report on Classroom Aquatic and bring you all the latest.
