Virtual reality (VR) videogame developer nDreams has secured £250,000 in funding from investment group Mercia Fund Management (MFM). The developer joins a number of other teams that MFM has placed investment in and will use the money to expand the team size as well as drive its VR development. The news hits shortly after nDreams confirmed that it would be revealing a ‘major’ new VR project at this year’s E3 in June.

“Mercia Fund Management’s £250,000 investment in nDreams will enable us to expand our existing profitable operation by increasing our team of developers and to increase our focus on enhancing our VR technology,” said nDreams founder and CEO Patrick O’Luanaigh. “It is a pleasure to work with Mercia Fund Management and the fact that we share a very similar yet ambitious vision proves that the Mercia team is the right partner for us.”

The developer has previously confirmed that it has projects for both the PlayStation 4 and PC in development. While the latter will be using the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset, the team is yet to announce compatibility with the Project Morpheus PS4 headset for its console title. VRFocus will continue to follow nDreams, its titles and all other aspects of VR.
