Virtual reality (VR) videogame developer nDreams has announced that former SEGA CEO Mike Hayes has joined the company’s board. His addition follows the news that nDreams has been granted £250,000 GBP in funding from Hayes’ investment group, Mercia Fund Management (MFM). nDreams is currently working on VR projects for both the Oculus Rift PC and Project Morpheus PlayStation 4 headsets.
“We’re delighted to welcome Mike as a director,” said nDreams CEO and founder Patrick O’Luanaigh. ”I have been fortunate enough to know Mike for over 15 years, and he’s one of the smartest people in the industry. Alongside the talents of Nicholas Lovell and Pip Burley, we now have a formidable team of non-executives that will help drive us forward as we look to become a major player in the rapidly growing world of VR.”
During his time at SEGA, Hayes made a number of key moves such as purchasing developers like Sports Interactive and Creative Assembly. He also helped shape the company’s digital initiatives. His past also includes time at Nintendo and Codemasters as Sales & Marketing Director for both.
