SEGA’s upcoming Alien: Isolation is one of the most anticipated videogames of 2014, looking to capitalise on its source material by creating a terrifying survival horror experience. Multiple sources have confirmed to us that the title is to be compatible with the virtual reality (VR) headset. We don’t know when or where the announcement will be made at this time.

Alien: Isolation is a first-person horror experience that casts players as Amanda, the daughter of the film franchise’s primary protagonist, Ellen Ripley. Amanda is investiagting the disappearance of her mother when she arrives on the Sevastopol space station, which is infested with one of the iconic, deadly aliens that proceeds to hunt her. Players use a range of weapons and tools to survive.

The title is due to arrive on PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on October 7th 2014. VRFocus hasn’t heard as to if it will also supported the Project Morpheus VR headset on PlayStation 4. VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s development and report back as soon as confirmation on Oculus Rift support comes through.
