Polarity Greenlit on Steam

Indie developer Bluebutton Games has finally reached a milestone for its upcoming virtual reality (VR) compatible puzzle title, Polarity, this week. The Oculus Rift VR headset compatible experience has finally passed its Steam Greenlight campaign just under a year after originally being posted on 2nd August 2013. Originally intended for release on PC in October 2013, the developer now hopes to launch Polarity by the end of 2014.

The videogame is described as a first-person puzzle experience in which players hack a virtual world, stealing data fragements. A variety of different types of puzzles are included, with players timing jumps across platforms, avoiding lasers as they travel through areas, manipulating gravity and more. While the single-player mode is fully compatible with the Oculus Rift, the developer also hopes to release cooperative levels for three to four players using standard monitors.

A browser-based demo of Polarity is currently available for all to try. The developer is yet to revealed a more specific date for its release. VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s development going forward, reporting back with any more updates on its progress.
