Last week saw the launch of both a Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight campaign for another new virtual reality (VR) compatible horror title by the name of The Corridor: On Behalf of the Dead. Indie developer Desktop Daydreams Studios is hoping to raise £37,500 GBP to help fund development of the title, which features full support for the Oculus Rift VR head-mounted display (HMD). Now a fresh look at the experience has arrived in the form of the first trailer, which can be seen below.
The trailer, which lasts for two minutes, is comprised almost entirley of gameplay footage from the upcoming title, which is being developed using the Unity Engine. The title casts players as a ‘Custodian’, an agent that enters the mind of suspected murderers and gathers evidence from their memories to proove either their guilt or innocence. The title features a strong focus on story, atmosphere and exploration.
Should the Kickstarter campaign work out then Desktop Daydreams Studios hopes to launch The Corridor: On Behalf of the Dead in January 2016 on PC, Mac and Linux. Those interested can currently back £10 to secure a digital copy of the title. The campaign will come to an end on 1st September 2014. VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s progress going forward, reporting back with any further updates on its development.
