With so many virtual reality (VR) titles in development from smaller indie developers, it can be hard to keep track of some of the more intriguing experiences coming up. Fortunately, Oculus VR’s Share platform has proved to be an effective tool for sampling new experiences with the Oculus Rift VR head-mounted display (HMD). Recently the service has added an intriguing new experience in Lost Loot.

Developed by Michael Schenck, Lost Loot casts players as an archaeologist on the hunt from the lost treasure of pirate queen Ching Shih. Set on an uncharted island, players will explore the tropical surroundings in search of the reward. The title features a heavy emphasis on exploring the ocean, managing air supplies as players snorkel around areas, finding more rewards and threats the further they go. Players will also be able to upgrade abilities as they unravel the mysteries of the island.

Lost Loot has been designed exclusively for VR. This Oculus VR Share release is a pre-release version with support for the Oculus Rift’s first development kit (DK1). The developer has revealed that plans to integrate the second development kit (DK2) are always underway and should be arriving in the next update. VRFocus will continue to follow any and all applications of VR, reporting back with all the latest.
