Palmer Luckey, the founder of Oculus VR and creator of the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset, is to speak at the upcoming NeuroGaming Conference on 7th to 8th May 2014. The event, which takes place in San Francisco, focuses on experiences that converge the mind and body to create unique videogames. This includes VR, motion and gesture control, augmented reality and other technologies.

PalmerLuckey_1Hosted by The Neurotechnology Industry Organization (NIO), the conference is moving to a bigger venue this year, being held at the City View at Metreon. Nearly 50 CEOs and executives will be in attendance to show off new products and talk about the industry. Joining Luckey on the headline roster are the likes of Mike Ambinder from Valve an Xbox co-creator Ed Fries.

A statement from conference chair Zack Lynch made specific reference to the Oculus Rift. “It’s exciting to see the industry embrace technologies like Oculus Rift and evolution of neurogaming just in one year’s time,” Lynch said. “So many people approached us afterward that wanted to be a part of this year’s conference, and we’ve sought out additional ways we can engage more people – and really the industry at large, into the conversation.”

VRFocus will be bringing full coverage of the NeuroGaming Conference, including the latest from Palmer Luckey’s speech and any other news on the Oculus Rift headset and VR.
