As the virtual reality (VR) community has grown over the past few years, so too has the number of meetups for developers and enthusiasts to gather at. One of the longest-running meetup groups for VR fans in the UK is hosted by Bossa Studios, the developer behind the popular VR compatible Surgeon Simulator series as well as the likes of I Am Bread. It’s been a while since the team hosted its last meetup in its office in London. This week, however, Bossa Studios confirmed that it will be hosting a new event in December 2015. READ MORE

Bossa Studios’ Surgeon Simulator has been tied to virtual reality (VR) for some time, being the first title available on Steam to support the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD). Since then the UK studio has showcased a version of the videogame for both HTC Vive and the consumer version of the Oculus Rift, but today an official name has been announced: Surgeon Simulator: Experience Reality. In England over the next few days,  the seaside city Brighton plays host to the annual Develop Conference. Today marks the first day and the precursor to Develop: Brighton, Evolve:Brighton, during which a number of speakers have been discussing aspects of the videogame and entertainment industries.  One such speaker was Vince Farquharson, COO of Bossa Studios who had some specific comments about the studio’s relationship with Valve. UK-based Bossa Studios has a long history with virtual reality (VR) technology. The developer was one of the first to implement full support for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) into a videogame with an update to its popular comedy title, Surgeon Simulator. It has also hosted its own VR Meetups as its London studio. In the past year the team has revealed and released a number of new non-VR videogames such as I Am Bread, though has recently assured that it is also working on ‘top secret’ VR projects which should be revealed in the near future. Bossa Studios Co-Founder Comments on ‘First Gen’ VR


Bossa Studios have long been supporters of virtual reality (VR), earning the mantle of being the first studio to launch a commercial videogame title for the Oculus Rift head-mounted display (HMD) in the guise of Surgeon Simulator. Since then the studio has regular offered advice for developing in VR and even hosted their own meetups at their London studio. Bossa Studios’ Steam VR Demo Will be at GDC & Rezzed


Earlier in the week Valve and HTC partnered up to announce a brand new virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD), the HTC Vive. A list of developers working with the kit was revealed shortly afterwards, including names like Vertigo Games and Owlchemy Labs. Also mentioned was Bossa Studios, the popular UK-based team known for its wacky videogame hit, Surgeon Simulator. New Surgeon Simulator Shots Show off PS4 Version


Earlier this week London-based indie developer Bossa Studios confirmed that it would be launching its hit videogame Surgeon Simulator on PlayStation 4 digitally on 12th August 2014 in North America and 13th August in Europe. The title will arrive as Surgeon Simulator: Anniversary Edition, complete with a mix of challenges from both the PC and iPad versions of the title.
