PrioVR Targets June 2015 Release & Post-Kickstarter Opportunites


YEI Technology has issued a new update on their funded PrioVR Kickstarter project, indicating a desired shipping date of June 2015.  The initial campaign proved to be exceptionally popular, raising over four times its initial $75,000 USD goalPrioVR is a full virtual reality (VR) suit consisting of sensors, a chest harness, headband, tracking hub and hand controllers with additional elements on higher tier suits. With backers attracted to a wireless package allowing for natural full-body tracking and interaction within a environment in real-time.


Trinity Magnum to Work With Beasts of Prey, Virtualizer and More


Earlier this week VRFocus reported that TrinityVR’s Magnum controller for virtual reality (VR) videogames would be supported in the upcoming VR sci-fi racing title, Radial-G. Now the company has confirmed a total of four new products that will integrate the device, including both software and hardware. The Magnum is currently running a Kickstarter crowd-funding campaign where it hopes to raise $60,000 USD by 20th August 2014 to fund development and production. READ MORE

TECHNOLUST Creator Has Spoken to Sony, Sixense, YEI on Support


Iris VR developer Blair Renaud has teased that his upcoming virtual reality (VR) videogame TECHNOLUST could feature support for a range of input devices and even new VR headsets. The developer has revealed that he has spoken to companies such as Sixsense and YEI Technology about supporting their respective motion controllers, STEM and PrioVR, as well as Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) about a possible Project Morpheus supported version of the title on PlayStation 4. PrioVR Shipping Pushed Back


YEI Technology has confirmed that its PrioVR full body motion controller for virtual reality (VR) experiences will not be shipping in June 2014 as originally planned. Company VP Mike Sutherland revealed as much, reasoning that it needed more time to deliver on a satisfactory product. While a new shipping date was not given, it did suggest that the suit will still arrive for Kickstarter backers ‘a little later this year’. READ MORE

Impossible Object, the developer behind the upcoming Giant vs Horde, has again updated its Kickstarter campaign. A new post has revealed an option that allows players to control the giant itself in the multiplayer space combat title. This new mode also means that the title will come with support for the Prio VR motion controller suit and Sixense STEM motion controller on top of the previously confirmed support for Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset. Developer Untold Games has revealed that it could implement support for YEI Technologies’ PrioVR fully body motion controller into its upcoming project, Loading Human. Responding to a question about possible support for the device, the developer stated that it thought the technology was ‘amazing’ but needed an evaluation before the team could pledge support for its title. PrioVR Kickstarter Ends at Over $320,000 in Funding


YEI Technologies Kickstarter campaign for its PrioVR full body motion controller has ended in massive success. The campaign closed today having made $322,104 USD in funding, nearly $250,000 more than its original $75,000 goal. A total of 854 different backers provided funding. In its month-long campaign the technology managed to pass 3 different stretch goals. The company had teased that it would offer to buy back Oculus VR from Facebook for a $2 billion stretch goal. PrioVR talks how Oculus Acquisiton Effects Motion Controller


YEI Technologies has commented on Facebook’s recent $2 billion acquisition of Oculus VR, explaining what it might mean for the company’s PrioVR full body motion controller. Speaking on an Ask Me Anything session on Reddit, chief of R&D Paul Yost reasoned that the device was far enough removed from the Oculus Rift for it to avoid potential negative effects. The suit, which places sensors on the user’s body, is compatible with the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset. READ MORE
