PrioVR Shipping Pushed Back

YEI Technology has confirmed that its PrioVR full body motion controller for virtual reality (VR) experiences will not be shipping in June 2014 as originally planned. Company VP Mike Sutherland revealed as much, reasoning that it needed more time to deliver on a satisfactory product. While a new shipping date was not given, it did suggest that the suit will still arrive for Kickstarter backers ‘a little later this year’. READ MORE

PrioVR Adds Custom Hand Controllers as a Stretch Goal

YEI Technology has announced a new stretch goal for its upcoming PrioVR motion suit. Instead of adding bonus demos and features like in previous stretch goals, this third benchmark promises new, fully customised hand controllers to replace the modified Wii nunchuck controllers currently in use. The campaign is looking to reach $260,000 USD to make these controllers possible. READ MORE

YEI Technology has updated the already successful Kickstarter campaign for its PrioVR motion tracking suit once more. Included in this latest update is a new stretch goal and a video to show how the technology works. YEI Technology Talk PrioVR: Past, Present and Future

YEI Technology’s PrioVR originally made it’s debut on Kickstarter late in 2013, however despite a genuinely fascination showcase of the technology and some reasonably priced reward tiers the device failed to reach even half it’s finance target. The developer relaunched the Kickstarter earlier this month and VRFocus is happy to say that it’s performing a little better this time around, smashing it’s funding goal within the first 24 hours.
